MCP quickstart

Connect your AI client to FiveX MCP in three steps.

Start by creating or opening your FiveX MCP account, then connect an MCP-compatible AI assistant to your marketplace context. FiveX handles authentication, channel permissions and API complexity so your AI client can ask questions and perform approved work across connected channels.

Before you start

Prerequisites

  • A FiveX account. Create one or log in through the FiveX MCP account page before configuring your AI client.
  • Access to the FiveX MCP setup screen so you can copy your FiveX keys or manage API tokens.
  • An MCP-compatible AI client such as Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT-style agents or another tool that can connect to an MCP server.
  • A clear decision on which channels the AI assistant may read from or act on. Channel access stays disabled until you enable it.

Step 1

Create or open your FiveX MCP account.

Start on the FiveX MCP account page. Create a free account or log in, then open the MCP setup screen where FiveX prepares the connection context your AI client needs.

  1. Go to the FiveX MCP account page and create an account or log in.
  2. Open the MCP setup screen and click Copy FiveX keys.
  3. Keep the setup screen open so you can enable channel access and review API tokens.

Step 2

Connect your AI client.

Paste the copied setup into your AI client or use the command-line instructions for tools such as Claude Code. The client discovers the FiveX MCP server and authenticates against the context FiveX provides.

  1. For chat clients, paste the copied setup into the conversation and send it.
  2. For command-line clients, use the command shown in FiveX and restart the client after installation.
  3. For manual setup, create or reuse an API token and configure it as a bearer token for the MCP server.

Step 3

Enable channels and verify the connection.

FiveX keeps channel access off by default. Enable only the channels the assistant should use, then ask a safe read-only question to confirm tool discovery and permissions.

  1. Enable channel access for the marketplace, ads or ecommerce accounts the AI assistant may use.
  2. Ask the AI client which FiveX tools or data sources are available.
  3. Start with a read-only request before allowing operational actions.
